Parallels Between Modern Physics and eastern Philsophy
While these new ideas of physics are still relatively new in understanding and the general public still focuses on the Newtonian ideal, there is no doubt that science is gravitating towards the idea of oneness, which is also is a major underlying idea in Eastern Thought. While many forms of Eastern philosophy differ in many aspects, the idea of unity in all things seems to resonate at the heart of each one, and the basis for this enlightenment is meditation and allowing the mind not the think, but to be. To realize the fluidness of all things is a very difficult concept for categorical human brain to comprehend but as physics advances, this truth seems to become more evident. A universe that seems to exist not with observers but participators. Nothing but paradoxes seem to arise from recent discoveries telling us that the foundation of our thought must be the problem.
“Quantum theory thus reveals a basic oneness of the universe. It shows that we cannot decompose the world into independently existing smallest units. As we penetrate into matter, nature does not show us any isolated "building blocks," but rather appears as a complicated web of relations between the various parts of the whole. These relations always include the observer in an essential way. The human observer constitute the final link in the chain of observational processes, and the properties of any atomic object can be understood only in terms of the object's interaction with the observer.”
